DROH!ME : Nature Walking!

10:30 - 12:00

Chaussée de La Hulpe 51
1180 Bruxelles

The project called DROH!ME An urban green space for all, aims to redevelop the old Uccle-Boitsfort racecourse, located at Chaussée de La Hulpe 53A, 1180, Brussels, into a regional recreational park. This is part of a process of multi-generational social utility with a particular focus on families, children and schools. It provides for a series of exemplary energy and environmental concepts inviting visitors and citizens a sustainable way to get closer to nature in an urban setting.  To this end, it plans to create a mosaic of specific activity spaces where the environmental, cultural, sporting, educational, recreational and heritage dimensions complement each other.

Around fifteen activity spaces equipped with innovative, renovated or new infrastructures will be created and developed, and run by specialist personnel. The general project phases are: feasibility and opportunity studies, planning permission and environmental permits, the works and deployment and organisation of activities.

The expenses covered by the ERDF-BCR funds will mainly be investment expenditure (renovation and construction of infrastructures).
